Hard Community Questions? Nada!
The moderator, a former Darned person, seems to have been carefully selected by the seat warming, "this is a large crowd" Chair and the county liaison. While the School Principal seems to be a nice person, I perceive that she, likely under the guidance of the selectors, totally shafted the community.
The constraints on the allowed questions were:
"...don't ask local questions..."
"...only ask county wide questions...."
So, here the community had an exclusive chance to address county level/controlled issues impacting the community, make a real difference, raise real issues, and.....
the moderator only allows namby-pamby, out of area question questions.
What is wrong with these folk? The golden opportunity to get good community issues out on the table and the only one that seems to be relevant now is:
Are you, the BCC, really happy with these Darned folk?
Ok, you darned folk, why didn't you ask about the Community Center?
The county is tearing down the old one, the Women's club is struggling with funding, but the so called "representatives of the community" totally ignore this.
And what about what is apparently a SLAPP law suit against the CPO?
how will you re-invigorate community involvement?
(Note to Foolish Village folk: if you comment as individuals on land use issues, like you did on cell towers, you, too, could be sued and the County won't defend you!)
They weren't totally evil,
nor were they particularly virtuous,
but their incompetence, deceit, snake oil, and intimidation
made them the Villages of the Darned
